The hardest bit of self-publishing is getting your work out there. The fact that I've sold over 150 copies of Ikiryo and have managed to get them in some pretty amazing comic shops blows my mind. The boost from artists on this platform really helped.

Always remembering her at her best. She started to go south during her mid 80s and was diagnosed with dementia. In the end it was cancer that got her. But she fought it like hell. ❤️

I was raised with her from age 1 to nearly 14. As much as she tried to suppress teaching any of her Japanese heritage to be accepted in the US, I was always curious and wanted to know more about it. So she taught me some Japanese and about our heritage. lkiryō is dedicated to her.

My mom asked me not to post on socials about the passing of my grandma in May. Mostly to avoid a certain person. No one in my fam uses this really and her ashes are being laid to rest today. One of the hardest bits of living abroad is losing people close to you. She was 91 & tough as hell.
