Today I learned what MSG’s scorebug now looks like during a shootout. As long as you don’t have a very common form of color-blindness, I suppose it’s an improvement over last year’s ones and zeroes. The Gotham app still sucks ass, though.

I agree with the rule. You break the rules, you go to the box for two minutes, by yourself, and you feel shame. A slash, trip, or cross-check can still be called after the whistle; there are no free shots. You even can get a penalty after the buzzer sounds to end a period or game.

@thgyoutube.bsky.social Hope you enjoy the Abbottsford game tonight. You’re missing an interesting Devils-Sharks game - Devils challenge a Sharks goal for offsides, but committed a penalty between the offsides and the goal — so they have to kill a penalty even after winning the challenge.

That’s how the rule is. Infractions don’t get nullified if the clock has to be rolled back. If the puck went out of play or if a puck bounces in and out of the net undetected, any penalties that happened get assessed at the game time when the clock should’ve stopped.

The penalty call is correct. As they were reviewing the offsides, I was thinking there would be a penalty regardless. Infractions don’t get wiped out.

You’re probably right. If a goal needs to fully cross the line and offsides is dependent on fully crossing the line, wouldn’t icing be the same? I thought I remember, in previous years, that a puck that goes through the crease is not icing - but I’ve been proven wrong on that in several cases.
