Comedy has almost always been about punchin up. Its a fringe art where fringe people punched up at power structures.
It started back w/people like Lenny Bruce takin on powerful gatekeepers and continued w/George Carlin, Bill Hicks etc maintaining that fight and highlighting it and that was taboo

Id hoped id gotten a deal but what I got was something I now need to pack back up in the box and return because even though it was literally brand new and hadnt been used, is a piece of shit and sounds like fucking dirt. You really do get what you pay for and I got a piece of junk.

I didnt expect a miracle mind you but after trying out a few other records which are brand new and mastered differently than ones from 1983, I figured there would be some difference in the sound quality, and I couldnt have been more wrong. I know you get what you pay for and all that but, damn.

Plug in the usb and the power, connect to my pc, turn on VLC and with a few clicks, bang I have audio!

Throw on a record, its an old record mind you but its clean and no scratches or anything. Start to play and the damn needle is skippin all over the place and it sounds like complete fucking ass.

The last store I go into before heading home I literally find a Brookstone usb turntable for $24 and after giving it a look over and seeing that its literally brand new and never been used, Im like fuck it may as well. So I grab it and bring it home to give it a test run and see how it goes.

So Im going around town today to the thrift shops looking for a record player (something I usually see piles of) and Im having zero luck. I get to the point after about 10 stores where I say to myself "Hell, Id consider getting one from Brookstone/skymall if I could find one with usb connection".
