Being a virtual tourist in that game is something else entirely because of how gorgeous it is.

Also, I had a bug where I abandoned a quest too early so my game would play this song endlessly even after multiple restarts. It still plays in my head to this day lol

I already ranted about this in another thread, but I do not think anyone would mind if Borderlands 4 looked visually identical to Borderlands 3.

That game looks good, even today, yet now we have a weird sequel that runs like trash and has so many rendering features that it stops being Borderlands.

I feel like all people want is for games to at least look 'good', but whether it pushes any boundaries is only appealing to a minority.

Just looking at the best selling games of the last couple of years and a lot of them are visually very 'average' for lack of a better word.

I think people are just tired of all the performance problems we're dealing with on PC. I love pretty games, Kingdom Come Deliverance II wouldn't have been the same if it looked simple, but that game runs really well despite the prettiness.

My experience hasn't been the same for other games.

Dynamic resolution in that game is genuinely hilarious. The more pixelated the screen became, the more of a good job you were doing!

Go through my page and you'll see me praise plenty of visually great games.

I proudly played Cyberpunk at 30fps so I could use Path Tracing with a stable framerate and I'm not even complaining.

But I generally prefer good effects over photo-realism, yes.

I don't think you miss much. I've played all of them, and I think Borderlands 4 is the weakest of the bunch so far. It just doesn't *feel* like a Borderlands game and the open world doesn't do it any favors.

Some good moments here and there though, but eh.
