If you're going to go into enemy territory during a playoff game to root for your team, wear it loud & proud. If your team wins, the rival fans will at least respect you even if they don't like you.

Keeping quiet til your team wins is just such a chickenshit move.

Watched Cubs/Brewers at a bar not far from Wrigleyville. Whole place decked out in Cubs gear cheering for the Cubs, and at the end of the game when the Brewers won, two people in non-descript clothes who had been quiet all game got up and started cheering, said "Fuck Chicago!" and left.

And they should be sure to include the context that after taking that bailout, Argentina has weakened America's negotiating position and hurt American farmers by selling 7 million metric tons of soybeans to China.

I think Milwaukee basically conceding and letting Gasser throw the last 2 innings last night has them set up kind of OK for tomorrow.

Their 4 most used relievers this year (Mears/Uribe/Koenig/Anderson) all didn't pitch last night and will be on 2 days' rest.

Argentina is simultaneously hurting US soybean farmers and weakening the US's position in trade talks with China, and Trump is giving them $20B to do it.

Worth remembering that he's sending $20B to Argentina as Argentina is actively seizing on the opportunity to supply China with soybeans so they don't have to buy from the US at tariffed prices.

While Trump was busy trying to look tough with the tariffs, he subsidized another country's efforts to undercut American farmers and fill a trade void left by Trump.

He gave Argentina money and enabled them to screw over American farmers. A bailout is his only option at this point.

The bailout is going to be necessary.

The fact Trump thinks that his discussions with Xi are going to open up the Chinese market for American soybeans shows how uninformed he is on this issue.

Yeah, I think in the spirit of the rule, it's probably right to not call it on that play, but I also have never seen it not called pretty much right away on a pop up on the infield like that.

Apparently Busch should've just pretended he was settled under the baseball.

But also, wouldn't this interpretation of the rule just encourage infielders to pretend they're about the catch the ball anyway, even if they can't find it?

If Busch pretends he's got a bead on that ball, the umps probably call the infield fly there.

I get why in the spirit of the rule they didn't call an infield fly there - if the Cubs couldn't find the ball, they clearly weren't going to drop it on purpose to try and pull off a double play - but I've never seen it not called in this kind of situation.
