I have been an avid reader all my life and continue to this very day! While physical books still have my heart, I have grown comfortable with ebooks and audiobooks. I will usually have an assortment of all 3 media types in the works at any given point.
You are welcome, it’s a pleasure to read your books!

If you were raised in an Evangelical or Fundamentalist religion you will find this book interesting. Coming from that background, this book didn’t offer new insight but there were a lot of things I could relate to.

In this book we see Clara coming into her own, Peter starting to show his deep insecurities, Gamache still recovering in spirit, mind, & body, Beauvoir struggling more than anyone realizes. Olivier trying (and failing)

This story does has some redemption towards the end, but it doesn’t make up for the heartbreak endured. I do feel the ending was rushed, I wish we had a few more chapters to wrap up the storylines a bit, but other than that I really enjoyed it.

This book was sad and horrifying, but so good. Life in an insane asylum is horrific, the treatment, the experiments, the abuse, is hard to comprehend. The lack of basic dignity and rights these humans were

I wanted to like this book, it is unusual, it is quirky. I can see why some people loved it, but it just didn’t work for me. The writing style didn’t draw me in so I had to force myself to keep picking the book back up.

You need to have read the previous books to truly understand this book. This book has a much more somber feel to it, Gamache is struggling with events that have happened, and decisions he has made. He is filled with 1/3

find this “excuse” irritating. I get that the author may be trying to find something, anything, that would explain Mandl’s behavior, but a broken engagement? Having your heart broken does not explain the evil that Mandl perpetrated on so many.
However, there is a lot of interesting information

Disappointing, short, more of a novella than a novel.
The characters seemed tired, the “mystery” was confusing at best, feels like a rough draft. Very disappointing, not the Richard Jury book we are accustomed to.

Enjoyed this book but didn’t love it. The “romance” wasn’t convincing, felt more like one-night-stand lust. The “mystery” fell flat for me, it felt like this big buildup and a big reveal for….that?

Maybe by exposing the darker side to some of our beloved characters, she is, in fact, laying the groundwork for deeper, more complex characters and relationships. 3/3
