we can use this to determine new canon of entries that use these gameplay mechanics - if a character is already tall enough to reach switches and buttons, they're actually three kids in a trenchcoat if a character uses a pogostick, they're secretly an old man

game design rules

- if your player characters are two or three kids they should stack vertically to reach higher-up buttons or switches
- if you play as an old man he should use his cane as a pogo stick

which is a bit crazy in all the surrounding context the movie redesign, the universal park getting a dk expansion, the series being recognized as distinct from Super Mario in many areas you'd think people would connect the dots by then i certainly was.. best 4 years of my life..

i didnt even have interest in the dk series before :p dkc's ganeplay and rare's other stuff were such turnoffs... but this game is so Solid and Large and every piece of it feels like it exists for a good reason...

-think about how you're gonna engage with the challenge before you've properly begun it if it was a Large amount of terrain, you'd be actively encouraged, and if it was None then you'd be forced to engage with it just as a platforming/puzzle challenge, it's perfectly balanced to keep you aware
