He's not bad, just...flawed. The club has doubled it's average attendance under him in 6 years. We've got 4 open stands, a thriving off pitch income stream and a new training centre being built.

But...he hired Wayne Rooney as a manager. We're in the bottom 4 of L1, where we started under him.
Maybe there are a collection of potential owners out there being cock-blocked by his terms.

Maybe those terms are actually pretty important to have in place.

How many snakes circled last time we fell out of the second tier?
Anyone saying "Hallett out" frazzles me just because of the terminology of it. He's not an employee. If he left, then he'd (rightly) pull his retained earnings - so "Hallett out" on it's own merit literally fucks us.
The "same league as Exeter" comment really stood out. I get it if they're in the Conference or something, but if they're in the division that is about our historical median (and probably above our last 30 year mean!), it lacks some self awareness.
WHAT IS EVERYONE'S THOUGHTS SHALL WE JUMP ON A HALLETT OUT BANDWAGON OR WHAT COS WE LOST TO EXETER?

LOL caps and no I'm not retyping them
@adam-price.bsky.social has typed words on a niche lower league football team website, and I thought it was worth discussing on here.

A lot of it is wrong. Some of it misses the point. A chunk of it isn't, like, relevant really.

But a large part resonates.

That man gives me the runs just thinking about him
They were dreadful weren't they? 😂 And we loved to hate it, like under Deadly Derek we were pariahs of slick, open football
Minorly interested in the rugby league tbf

Big brutal, sweaty men

Euff
Pretty sure he took charge of Argyle Thursday night 😭
SATURDAYS WITHOUT ARGYLE 😍😍😍

What's everyone doing?

I'm going to Endsleigh Garden Centre to buy the Christmas tree 🎄

All of those attributes individually make a bad day though, right?
I've been 3 times and not seen us score let alone win 😍
There as in would also just persevere for a bit and see what happens
I'm there. Completely unconvinced and have been from his first game. I don't know what the tipping point is. Unlike Rooney I reckon he might at least be trying (sober), and the jeopardy at this point is still v low (13 points from our last 8?). So yeah, expect we give him a while to turn it around.
With an extra 2 days rest, we go and pump Mansfield on Tuesday night, right?

Forget last night happened. Don't let a one-off game cloud a tenure too much.

Yeah I was gonna get him on my shoulders and charge the home end, but that does sound a bit better tbf
I think he might be a year or two young for it, hence starting him out on a cup game. Any advice, other than snacks?
Just bought tickets for the cup game at Wycombe.

First game I'm ever taking my lad to. He's 4. Dreading it.

Why has this even happened after last night?

I still think we're miles off a squad who gets relegated.

I've no idea what we do though. Sack Cleverley? Maybe. I don't really want to be a club looking for our 5th manager in under 2 years.
We've a scenario where none of the players are visibly terrible, but none of them are achieving anything at all either. Randell (nostalgia klaxon) passed forwards, but would have spells of 30 mins in a game where he lost the ball a lot and looked shit. But it's what the team needed. Tempo & get go
What is underrated is the mindset. Lowe/Schu would hammer the midfield if they didn't play forward. Boateng last night was dreadful for picking it up in space and passing to Mitchell/Wiredu. The one bloke who was actually obviously winning his 1v1 battle on the pitch was subbed off first.
Honestly, the shape of a football team is quite overrated. After 5 minutes you should be able to work out where your opposing player is, and you react accordingly. You don't stand in a formation, you find space, you get the right side of your man, you win your battles.
That aside, Tolaj will get more goals this season than Hardie ever did, and I'm pretty confident MW would have 0 goals if he was still here and getting pelters for being lazy.
