Don’t try to reason with this. The examples are not even thinly veiled in their racism.

Being raised on All Saint’s I have to say the actual spooky day is November 1st, not October 31st
I love #halloween because it’s the one day a year I get to have a beard.
Tell me —
what this heart yearns for
but I fear you’ll never understand.

Tell me —
you can believe
in forgiveness.

Tell me —
you’re ready
for anything.

Tell me —
we don’t have to be
afraid anymore.

Because,
what else was I going to do?

What else were you?

Imagine him running for president one day. The attack ads would just be clips of him saying he doesn’t know about literally everything.
Nothing would feel more mid in 2028 than a primary between Harris, Newsom, and other moderates.

I want to see AOC. I want to see De la Cruz. I want Sanders to talk God into a small donation of an extra decade or two.

Give us something radical, for the People, and unapologetic.

We were just notified that cell-site simulators were used during the No Kings protests in several cities. Fortunately, we planned for this. Portland, Houston, Philadelphia, and Chicago were among the targeted locations. If you’re attending protests, please remember to follow protocol.

Damned, howling in their shrouds across the moor
Rave on the leash of the starving mind
Which peoples the bare room, the blank, untenanted air.’

I could go for a zine full of these ponderings, scattered around galleries and art museums.
In my experience the biggest problem locally is a lack of community presence.

Most citizens don’t have any interaction besides when facing legal trouble. There’s no neighborly connection or community between us. That makes them monsters and us threats.

Violence is a deep, corrupting thing.
Half bad?

It’s enough for poetry to be fun. I read this aloud and the rhythm made me smile, it felt worthwhile, unlike so much of what we happen to scroll onto.

I’d call that well done.
… in dealing with a housing crisis. Their solutions can offer a blueprint for other big cities and a guiding wind for smaller ones.

We need to get over dated like socialism and focus on solutions that solve our problems today.

But hey, I’m just a poet.
… of which, are often tied to homelessness and addiction.

We have too few police and are asking them to be social workers.

I love Mamdani’s plan to separate these roles by creating a community safety department.

I’m not a NYer, so why care?

America is a grand experiment and NYC isn’t alone…
My city has been struggling to pass a measure that’d increase police funding.

It’s a weird spot.

Police violence here and in our neighboring community paired with long response times have shaken public trust. But so has the fact police simply aren’t equipped to handle mental health crises…
Shrill cries
draped in tangible night,
“Death becomes you,”
over and over
until the words twist
on my tongue,
“I become Death.”

Shon-Lueiss and my day was spent writing a brand development plan for work, while finishing up the third part of a short story for my newsletter.

The short story is about a small town’s reaction to a mysterious factory and its role in a local’s strange death.
Dreamsong is back.

"bundled up and layered in mud
let dry, rinsed by the rain, then dried once more
the kind of dirty that makes you feel closer to nature
while pushing you farther from The World."

There's a time and place for dark things.
Three poems dealing in death and the dark, satisfying thoughts roused by a cool October morning.
