Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

C’est “intéressant” comme une partie de l’info est passée, le risque de respirer un air contagieux, mais pas les moyens de s’en prémunir, et comme le masque n’est plus qu’un stigmate de maladie et angoisse, alors que c’est un signe de prudence, connaissance et attention aux autres.

Cette confusion entre port du masque et maladie est un frein social puissant à son usage : on ne porte pas le masque aussi par crainte d'être assimilé à un malade. Et les pouvoirs publics n'ont jamais rien fait pour contribuer à banaliser le port prophylactique du masque, bien au contraire.

Covid fun fact — J’amène la voiture au garage, sur le parking j’en sors sans masque et la laisse à un technicien qui l’amène à l’atelier. Lequel technicien me croise 10 mn plus tard à l’intérieur avec mon FFP2, et me demande le regard terrifié si je suis malade. Je le rassure « non justement ».

U.S. Rep. Janelle Bynum (D-Ore.) called on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to stop abducting her constituents, a week after ICE agents apprehended a Milwaukie man born in California on his way to work and detained him for part of the day.

“These ICE raids are reminiscent of the Fugitive Slave Act, when the U.S. Marshals would hunt down and kidnap Black Americans,” Bynum said in a statement. “That was a dark and shameful time in our nation’s history—we must not allow that to repeat. Masked federal agents aren’t welcome in our state and they can’t keep kidnapping Americans.”
