The thing with any art is that there is no objectivity. It's all about preference.

I might like someone's unfinished, sketchy linework better than the finished piece. I might dislike an artstyle's subject proportions.

I'd say it's less about the asking, and more about how you are asking.

The sight itself might not be exciting, but keeping in mind where it was taken is mind-boggling.

Giving yourself a moment to look at a full moon helps give perspective. But trying to imagine the distance to Mars compared to the moon is something else.

Things like this is what makes me question phrases like "kill your darlings". I think it's important to keep silly ideas around, at least for a while. You could come across them down the line and find a good place for them.

As a youngster I saw the Matrix scene where they remove the 'bug' from Neo's body. For years afterward, I connected silverfish with that thing, and was super spooked.
