In the linked puzzle, the board has 256 (2^(2^3)) tiles 64 (2^(2^2)) walls, the grid is made of a 2^(2^1) repeated subsections and it is symmetrical in 2^(2^0) ways. The solution also has exactly 64 lights and the clues all add up to 64.
Daily Akari No. 256 was submitted by nmk33. Originally they submitted this puzzle: puzz.link/p?akari/16/1... but it was revised to the one shown today. We decided together to also share this one separately.

I liked the idea of B at first, but I think you might not like it because it seems like the kerning isn't consistent. (The space between the 'T' and 'h' for example appears huge compared to the space between other letters), making it feel kind of wonky. I think I just like the first one the most

Interestingly when I originally scheduled this puzzle a few months ago "World QR Code" day was on Aug. 21, but recently there are sources celebrating it on Aug. 8 too.
Aug. 21 is "World QR Code Day" and it's also my birthday, so I thought it was a perfect fit for the QR code puzzle that was submitted. I was surprised to find that you can read QR codes even through Daily Akari's UI.

Thank you to @hugobdesigner.bsky.social for making it!

I think keeping track of whether it was the first puzzle by the author would be hard to manage the way things are set up right now, but it's an interesting idea. I think I'd label it "Debut" in that case.
Originally the "Premiere" label was a special case when we would show a puzzle that had never been seen before. Now with all the help from your puzzle submissions it has become more normal for a while, so I'm considering removing that label🤔
Today's (Sunday's) puzzle by "brownie" is one of my favourite submissions. It is also definitely one of the most challenging puzzles we've shown. Please let me know how you find it!

@singfisher.com istg i look up at the ceiling in my lecture hall and instinctively look for where i can and can't place lights
We've been getting a lot of puzzle submissions lately, so I've needed to be more selective. I've been trying to increase difficulty throughout the week, but I might need to abandon that in order to show all the most interesting puzzle submissions quicker.
