No idea. Would probably help if he did. Good thought.

If nothing else, I hope they can boost this thread to show others the pitfalls of streaming, even if the actual problem can’t be addressed.

Now, episode 8 is shown in 4:3, which cuts off info as shown. And nothing can be done about it. To say I’m disappointed would be a gross understatement.

The original 7 episodes were indeed in 4:3. After 9/11, an eighth episode specifically about the World Trade Center was added, and this was in 16:9. For years, the file I purchased was correct.

Well, the evils of streaming finally caught up to me. Five years ago, I purchased Ric Burns PBS New York documentary from Amazon. I watched it repeatedly with no issues. Now, some genius changed the aspect ratio for episode 8 to 4:3, cutting off the image. Naturally, nothing can be done. 😔

Of all of Hollywood’s untimely deaths, hers saddens me the most.

Pirating new albums is another skill lost to time.

A guy in Michigan got a fluke preorder and put it up for sale on Facebook for $25. A nearby Swiftie bought it but didn't own a CD player, so she got one from Walmart, then realized you can't burn files to a computer this way so is just playing them in a Discord voice channel for thousands of people

Odds are if Haley Lu Richardson is in it, it’s at least worthwhile for her.

FWIW, my IMAX 70MM screening in Indianapolis had a couple of local ads but no actual trailers.

I’ve certainly never seen inclines used that way. Not even by Bullitt.

It's not *quite* sweater weather yet, but it IS the first day of fall. So here is lovely Kim Novak in a nice cozy-chunky sweater.
The sweater goes up to Novak's neck and has long sleeves; her head is tilted and her hair is in its platinum stage. This is (probably) a studio portrait as the photo has a flat, fuzzy background.

Just got to see JUGGLER projected in 4K. Terrifically tense and scuzzy. Thanks for making me aware of it!

And when it comes to, say, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, I can always take pleasure in being one of the few who adored that movie - while wishing more people felt the same. Both of these positions carry a double-edged sword, don’t they?

I can also see the value on the flip side. The most prominent example I can think of is that Gone With the Wind used to be considered this vaunted classic, and I always found it overrated. I’m glad to see people being more critical of it now.

Thank you for such thoughtful answers! Speaking very, very generally, I personally find it more fulfilling to be one of the few on the positive side, because simply put, you feel better when you are happy. That said….

Not at all! I’d be honored! Go right ahead!

This makes me curious. What do you think is the more enviable position: being one of the few who dislikes something acclaimed, or one of the few who champions something unloved?

So we want to have only two movie studios eventually? Sure, why not? Can’t distribute movies unless you also run a theme park.

How funny that I find this less than an hour after seeing Kane at Regal.
