I went to No Kings website and a few protest events info I looked at for Saturday said 12pm-2pm. This stuck me as odd. Maybe that's just the gathering time frame and then they intend to march some route.

I have to agree with you. Trump is making life a stressful misery for all by letting unfettered greed rule his bad decisions and policies as well as creating an uncaring hostile brutal and sadistic environment to live in.

That is true for some but not all. Some people that voted for Trump are racist misogynistic a-holes but some are just plain dumb. Farmers did not expect to lose all their laborers or be stuck with soy bean crops and no buyers. MAGA didn't expect groceries and goods prices to increase by 40-65%.

They care when the misery they wish for others boomerangs back onto them. Everyone's health care premiums are going up not just those on ACA. Everyone's grocery costs have risen by 50%+. Everyone is being price gouged on all goods. Everyone is living with the misery and tension created by Ice.

Even if that happened (I wouldn't trust them) having majority of State Legislatures Republican would impede progress as they'd create conflict out of resentment over losing the majority.

Majority is determined by election results. That is how the math changes.

Getting someone to agree is possible - to convert is unlikely.

Dem Congress with mostly Republican State Legislatures will spend all its time in court.

Vote in every election you can. Don't wait for the midterms. Take every opportunity to vote out a Republican. The lesser positions support and hold up the higher positions. We must break their structured network every way possible.
