We need more "unfunded" research, not less. Or rather, we need more "core" funding and much less project based funding. Then universities can *invest* in core research infrastructure (including people), reduce precarity, and focus on growing and retaining talent.

El pasado 22 de agosto la ONU declaraba oficialmente la hambruna en Gaza, que se define como una situación extrema de inseguridad alimentaria en la que se carece de acceso suficiente a alimentos para sobrevivir, lo que provoca altas tasas de desnutrición, enfermedad y mortalidad. La Sociedad Española de Epidemiología explica cómo se evalúa técnicamente esta situación, así como las implicaciones de la declaración.

Now I'd rather use the bounding analysis over other APC approaches, just because how transparently assumptions are made (which likely also influences how 'confidently' results are interpreted).
Also thanks for providing the code used for the empirical illustration!

Sin menoscabo del artículo citado, no tengo claro que las estimaciones del GBD Study sirvan para demostrar lo que señalas a nivel de incidencia, la verdad.
Quizá sea prudente esperar a que se publiquen resultados de REDECAN (hay estudios en marcha).
