Also I love going to second hand bookstores because sometimes I find things like this endearingly goofy version of one of my favorite books. Also I love these pulp paperbacks, the perfect book size imo.

I didn't think I was enjoy "vibe" books as much, as I really didn't like the Night Circus, which I've seen Piranesi compared to. Maybe my tastes as changed a bit, maybe I'm more attracted to prose with a strong sense of voice.

Finally had a morning to finish it. Piranesi good. I really really liked that haha. I was so entranced by the whole thing! I really need to read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell now, as intimidating at it's size is.

Me making any progress in this game is proof that you don't need to be good at it, just determined.

I recommend this book full heartedly. A deeply charming and clever take on Emma while thoughtfully exploring queerness and privilege. I don't say this lightly but it's full of heart. It was dear friend during a very stressful plane ride.

happy birthday to my queer regency rom-com I Shall Never Fall in Love!!!! overwhelmed by how many people have read and enjoyed it in the last year tbh. THANK YOU to everyone who's read, supported, and/or said nice things, it really means the world #books
Photo of me holding the UK version of I Shall Never Fall in Love surrounded by yellow flowers on a sunny day Comic panels from I shall never fall in love. A drawing of a girl in a garden clasping another's hands and saying 'you have excellent marriage prospects'. The next panel zooms out so we can see the rose arch looks like a wedding arch, and the other replies, 'I do?' Comic panels from I shall never fall in love. Two young white people in regency dress dancing very close outside a window, one in an evening dress and the other in a more traditionally masc jacket Comic panel from I shall never fall in love. A drawing of (the same) two people in skirts sitting in a window seat of a fancy room looking towards two girls by the piano. One says 'do you think her more accomplished than me?' and the other replies 'Well.'

Decided to get re-accustomed to Silksong controls again.... by fighting some secret optional bosses, like a very smart person.

I love reading a book and remembering with a vengeance that yes! yes I love reading! Reading is so fun!
Anyway got through like a third of Piranesi in one sitting and I'm mad I have to stop for work. I'm so delighted by it immediately.

Did a quick collage tonight. Turned out simple but hey, it is what it is.

Love libraries haha. My mom is a librarian actually.

I've heard great things, looking forward to it!

Part of this is me trying to avoid buying new books atm (saving space and money) so I've been picking up what I can from libraries and second hand books. not quite the books I WANT to read but the ones that are available to me.
One day my library request for Piranesi will come in. One day.

My reading lately has been balancing reading gothic classics for research that hold up very well and are very interesting... and then the MOST 3/5 modern books. Just constant "sometimes good, never great" books. I'm not saying old good, new bad. Perhaps a testament to why some books are classics.
