ALICIA CORDISCO - The Burden of I (Review)

If I know one thing about metal music, it is this: @allieinchains.bsky.social executes.

Alicia Cordisco - The Burden of I. A dark environment with cracks of light cutting through the murk. A small building with the lights on sits on the left side.

Hoping FAST is not a working title
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
100% chance it would be a certified banger
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
Agreed. AMoLaD justifies its length imo, but the more recent outings are quite painful.

I think Zenith is still my favorite of their albums but they haven't missed yet

And thats it for baseball posting this year I guess.

These 1st innings have been very fun, I can not lie.
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
I take it all back this is going great
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
If Hardwired was half the runtime I'd listen to it a lot more often, that's for sure
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
I see that, there's definitely an attempt to inject a little variety into the formula.
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
Agreed, especially when it comes to artist genre like thrash that clearly benefits from brevity and succinct presentation.

I'd be inclined to say that quote Fiadh Productions is the most exciting and consistent label in the game right now unquote.

That said, I tend to hold Testament to a higher standard than their thrash contemporaries. Grain of salt, etc. etc.
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
While not my favorite of their late-era run, this new Testament is a fun listen and contains more than a few rippers. I do wish they kept it a little more concise--50 minutes feels like overkill, imo.

Amidst all the amazing releases yesterday Fiadh reigned supreme. Nothing but bangers across the board.
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
For sure, and I still feel like there's a lot to get to that I missed

Speaking of amazing music released yesterday:
Our Breath Is Not Ours Alone by Terzij de Horde

I know regrettably little about cricket but I love the idea of multi-day events.
sleepingvillage.bsky.social
Yeah you need at least a few interesting moments to maintain the balance. Those extra-innings-no-hits games can get painful.

The lack of urgency is definitely nice from time to time

I love listening to a game on the radio, the commentators finding ways to fill the dead space is often entertainment enough

Maybe just me but I kinda enjoy the feeling of lukewarm investment in a game. There's just something so delightful about settling into a 4th/5th/6th inning stretch where absolutely nothing is destined to happen. Even in the postseason, where everything has consequence.
