If each vote counts individually & that national popular vote decides the winner, not regional totals canceling out the votes for the regionally losing candidate, what difference would regional designations make? If every vote is one national vote there wouldn’t be red or blue areas to gerrymander

What are you talking about? We do not have that, & without the electoral college, without state electors, the popular vote, the person all the people voted for, would win regardless of whether they lived in a red or blue state. States wouldn’t be red or blue, they could reflect their citizenry.
