I am really tired of the UB discourse. Not discounting peoples' problems with the game, and not trying to invalidate anyone's feelings. But I don't think there's anything else that can be productively said about it, so it's run into the mud atm.

I'm just tired. I want to vibe and play with cardboard, and I want the good people around me to be safe. But the world is precarious, I'm feeling constant pressure to use AI despite how awful it is, and it's getting difficult to ignore angry players. Maybe I just need to escape for a bit, idk.

I run it in my group hug deck with the intent to punish them for it.

But when it's played against me? I'll counter it if able. Barring that, I'll feed it if I have my own busted land to grab (most of the time, I don't).

Probably my favorite deck to pilot currently is Vanille.

When Vanille enters, mill two cards, then return a permanent card from your graveyard to your hand.

At the beginning of your first main phase, if you both own and control Vanille and a creature named Fang, Fearless l'Cie, you may pay 3 generic, 1 black, and 1 green mana. If you do, exile them, then meld them into Ragnarok, Divine Deliverance.

It’s weird, I really liked the Spider-Man full art lands but most folks didn’t.

Reception for the pizza lands seems really high, on the other hand, but I am really not feeling them.

I'm one of the few who liked Spider-Man, but Turtles Forever feels exactly like what Spider-Verse should have been.

Not a Turtles fan, but I can't deny that the art and design are very cool.

OK, and in a similar vein: we just had Cori-Steel Cutter introduced and swiftly banned in Standard this year.

I find it hard to believe that people use power creep as a reason for not liking Universes Beyond. Yes, The One Ring and Vivi exist. So do Nadu and Cori-Steel Cutter. It's not a UB-unique thing.

I think Orcish Bowmasters in some fashion would have existed whether we had UB or not; let's not pretend Modern Horizons sets don't exist.

I put Spider Manifestation in my Animar (hydra kindred) deck; Iron Spider in my vehicles deck; and Lady Octopus in my dimir artifacts deck.
