Interesting AI generated video. Looks like a single short (and the artifacts look like morphing) . Lots of other similar ones on the channel.

To Hell and Back: Europe 1914-1949 by Ian Kershaw

4/5

A single volume covering the period. Covers the military campaigns only in passing to use space for other areas. Very good and manages to cover all countries

Depends on the size of the block.

A 1kg block would be a lot for one person in one sitting..

Amused that some people believe that a company ( which is already known for dubious anti-consumer behavior! ) should spend extra on non-core stuff just because they have lots of money lying around

and then they get very angry when I point out that companies don't normally do that

I went to Hobbiton earlier this week.

Pretty good fun and enjoyed myself. Would recommend

"IT Professionals NZ" (Previously the "NZ Computer Society") has suddenly wound up due to being insolvent

itp.nz/closure

No idea the story.

I've never been a member since it seemed to be for Government IT Project Managers and they had a dubious certifying drive a few years back

The three dots on your post

How about create some of your own content instead of just links?
slyall.bsky.social
You click the three dots in the web interface.

BTW not sure why you are creating a new NZ News feed. Plenty of those already.
slyall.bsky.social
The link works. But if you click on the image it just expanded the image
slyall.bsky.social
If you are going to just do a feed of articles could you include the headline in as text please?

Bluesky doesn't pick up the headline properly always so it is not obvious what you are linking to..

People always talk about the python3 migration and it's problems

But they never compare it with the php6 or perl6 migrations

Ah the "see he is soft on this issue, you might as well vote R" school of thought.

Working out for ya?

Got emailed to get involved with something, replied but never heard back.

Just reviewed and see I missed the link to the signup form in the email

Too late now 🤦

Due to daylight savings my work hours have moved an hour later since Sunday

Last night I got all prepped to finish and handover to next shift when teammates pointed out I had another hour to go.

Was 😢

I have today and next week off. Going to an online conference this weekend

Someone just posted:

"New low: Discovered secrets being stored as tags on a KMS key. Why? FIIK. Sticking secrets on a label on the outside of the safe has got to be secure, right. 😡 The key itself is not used for anything "

Before around 2000 Dunedin had a higher population than both which is why it was traditionally the 4th.
slyall.bsky.social
I wonder what counts as New Zealand's 4th city

Traditionally it was Dunedin but that has lower population than Hamilton or Tauranga.

But Dunedin still has greater weight in Culture and mindshare than Tauranga and possibly Hamilton
