I do not know how to explain the feeling of “aging out of queerness” but I think it has something to do with androgynous beauty standards.

I increasingly want a super queer looking haircut, but I fear that as a fat person that it would come across as trashy.

This is not a judgement about other people, this is a judgement about myself. Everyone else looks great with queer presenting haircuts.

this is largely in response to the fact that once we were no longer involved, she IMMEDIATELY recreated a Percy Jackson photoshoot that I was in with her a few years back.

She pulled them to get professional group photos with an on site photographer, did not include me in the group photos, and let me just awkwardly take photos by myself. I don’t even remember if we got photos of that cosplay together there. I’m sure we did, I don’t think she was that inconsiderate but

Like I’m flashing back to the first time we went to Katsu Con and we met people who were cosplaying from the same thing as us- one of which was cosplaying the same character and the same version of the character that I was.

I don’t think I ever really considered how fucked up it was that I would actively do couple cosplays with someone, and then she would be like “can I do this same couple cosplay with someone else that isn’t you, who is more conventionally attractive and a bigger name?”
