Maybe the Labour Party should have been more upfront and said “Whatever deal you secure, we will not honour, if it’s not in the interests of the British people. Pretty sure that doesn’t qualify as a get out of jail ticket.

How much of the gaping hole is due to their inheritance from the Tories ? Can you fix a deal - say the Tories negotiated for the next 25 years ? I don’t know but it would surely be interesting to find out, rather than crucify the Party that didn’t vote for Brexit but inherited the mess.

The “Race to the bottom “ due to Brexit unfortunately prolongs any ability for the UK to rejoin the EU. How many years have the Tories signed UK up for in trade deals and Free ports ? No wonder Starmer said we will not rejoin in his lifetime.
