it's not actively unfun i guess but it's also not very enjoyable either, outside of just watching flashy animations there's really nothing to this that grabs me.

there's some strategy to it but it never feels necessary. dodging isn't really a "thing" because pokemon move so slowly (and you can't manually reposition them w/o using a move anyway?) so a good amount of fights are just, facehugging each other until someone's hp runs out. it's lame.

legends z-a's battle system is really boring and i'm not sure what i'm missing that's making everyone else enjoy it so much. it's not difficult to understand and i'm fairly decent at it i think but i just. don't find it fun at all. a good amount of it is just, mashing cooldowns without thinking no?

idk personally it's hard to read smth when u know ahead of time that something unpleasant is going to happen to the characters you're invested in, almost feels like you're causing it hfshgds

i'd probably like chainsaw man if i ever got around to it but getting spoiled on all of the characters i like getting killed/leaving after a certain point has certainly put me off of it a bit. dunno if that's better or worse than if i got blindsided by it tho

used to be one of my favorite games i've ever played but looking at how things have played out i can't help but feel like it's been tainted, knowing how the devs are just... makes it so hard to tolerate. genuinely awful people who have cultivated a genuinely awful fandom.

of course this is all a monumental waste of time to actually debate and you're better off just blocking those types and moving on with your life, this is more just me acknowledging that the game's imperfect writing exists and is in part why they're so adamant (tho general transphobia is at play too)

imo it's always felt to me that regardless marina would have transitioned eventually (or stayed a really sad egg) so i'm able to handwave this away as circumstance providing an "excuse" but obviously i'm giving this more good faith than someone arguing against marina's identity would.

marina very much is a girl, likes being a girl, and identifies as one willingly, but none of that matters to a person who can point at "her mother made her do it" and dismiss all of that as symptoms of familial abuse. it's like what you see w/ dark souls' gwyndolin, although not quite THAT bad.

funger "is marina trans?" debates persisting is obnoxious but to be fair they're given wiggle room by the game's dogass decision to make the identity of "girl" be forced upon her by her mother growing up. historically awful writing decision that will ensure the discussion is misery forever.
