We are deeply thankful to all the speakers who shared their time and knowledge with us, and to everyone in our audience who showed up, asked questions, and brought warmth and curiosity to every event.

We welcomed speakers from UCL, Academia Sinica, Kyushu University, UT Austin, Oxford, Edinburgh, SOAS, Birkbeck, KCL, UCLan, Waseda, IIT Madras, and UC Berkeley—whose generosity in sharing their work brought us across history, literature, film, politics, anthropology, environmental law & more.

As this term comes to a close, we pause to reflect on the past three months with full hearts. From January to March, the Centre of Taiwan Studies has been lucky to host 11 rich and thought-provoking talks, each one a gathering of minds, stories, and questions.

Hearing Ko-hua Chen’s poetry read aloud in both Chinese and English was something else—bold, rhythmic, and completely hypnotic.
