This 2025 redeployment became a poetic turn: the float, once recovered on La Maddalena, was relaunched in the Balearic Sea by the same oceanographer who first deployed it in 2020 (Lara Díaz), now joined by Magdalena Carranza.💙

Months later, it reappeared on the shores of La Maddalena Island (Italy), where it was recovered by the national Coast Guard. The float was then repaired, its sensors recalibrated, and prepared for redeployment, giving it a second life at sea.🔁

An #ArgoFloat launched in 2020 in the #Mediterranean #Sea by #SOCIB operated successfully for four years, collecting valuable temperature and salinity profiles from the surface to depth—until transmissions ceased, and it was presumed lost.
