Acknowledging that we can talk about sexual orientation without talking about gender identity isn't always TERF or anti-trans (although I will agree that anti-trans folks, including the current administration, are erasing the T for that very purpose). I'm neither TERF nor anti-trans. 🪞
1) This account is a twitter archive and this tweet is from 2015. 2) LGBTQIA+ advocacy groups and scholars support language that recognizes the difference between sexual identity and gender identity, e.g. LGB. Indiscriminately lumping "T" into LGB erases important personal/political issues.
Click the link before you embarrass yourself. The 2010 podcast episode is about parents of lesbian and gay youth. The study was conducted in the late 2000s. Using "LGB" in this situation is accurate.
This is the warning I see on my account. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, and before ASWB gets on blue sky , just know the sky hasn't fallen in Illinois - but what has happened is that thousands of social workers are licensed treating clients and making a difference in the lives of Illinois residents.

Wait until you hear about how we created an alternative to the exam for the LCSW, creating another path to licensure….
Episode 133: Interview with @NASWIL Executive Director, Joel Rubin, about how the @ASWB exam was eliminated from licensure requirements for BSW and MSW graduates of accredited social work programs in Illinois. Sounds boring? Oh, just you wait....
@mattwallaert Good to see you on the other side.
And just like that, I'm interviewing AI for my #podcast. What has the world come to? More importantly, is this where we're going? In Ep 137, #GPT4o & I talk AI, structural racism, child welfare and community organizing.

For all my tweeps thinking of heading over to Bluesky, the vibe is energetic and the features are great. The mass influx of new users crashed the service today, but that shouldn't deter anyone. And you can migrate your Twitter history.
