My vet called (3/13) about #mrboo_ biopsy results. The cause of the skin issues is called Pemphigus foliaceus. Prednisolone can treat it, but he takes it already & w/his heart issues, it isn't advisable to increase the dosage. My vet'll talk to the dermatologist to determine the best treatment plan.

This morning (3/12) our feeding group caught 3 cats this time! Only this cutie allowed a picture 🖤🤍. She/He and the other 2 are off the street and will get the works done. Then they will be ready for adoption or the barn program. Have a better life you 3!!

Our Feeding group has trapped since catching 2 cats last week w/no luck until last night (3/10). This cutie 🐈‍⬛ was enticed by sardines & will get a vet check, vaccinated, microchipped & neutered if needed - all should be already). Traps are set again tonight w/the game changing KFC 🍗. Good luck 2 us!

#mrboo_ went to the vet late yesterday (3/2) to check the sores on his head, ear, neck, back & tail. The topical cream hasn't helped. The next step is to take skin biopsies and wait for answers. I just want my sweet boy to be better 🥺. Please keep him in yr thoughts & prayers. ~ Catmom 🤎

an overpopulation of Demodex mites in the hair follicles that the host’s immune system can’t control. She said these mites are always present in felines, but it only becomes an issue when the cat has an auto immune decline. I asked if she thought it could be bacterial, fungal, or a yeast infection ⬇️

his red blood count’s on the low side, but officially he’s not anemic. So, we’ll have to keep an eye on this. The rest of his blood work looked good including liver, kidneys & platelets. My vet suspects that the sores could possibly be demodectic mange which is a skin disease caused by ⬇️

Yesterday (3/5) #mrboo_ had his vet appointment to take 5 biopsies of the skin sores on his head, ear, neck & back. You can see one blue suture in the second picture. It’ll take about 5️⃣ business days to get the results back from the lab. Last Friday he had blood drawn & the results show ⬇️

I hope it’s something easily resolved & isn’t serious. These 2️⃣ will enter the shelter’s barn cat program & hopefully find a wonderful home. Tonight I’m helping set up the traps & we’ll see who else we can catch. Send us good luck 🍀!

Last night (3/4) was the first time trapping the community cats that our group feeds. 2️⃣ cats 🐈 🐈‍⬛ were caught, & they’re off to our local animal shelter for vet checks, vaccines, microchips, & anything else they may need. The black cat has some type of injury that you can see on her/his eye. ⬇️
