Maybe I'm falling for the skill of his oration in that speech but he really does appear to be pleading with the party with a level of passion that you don't see in politics anymore - at least not within the British Labour Party

I've gone on a mini-deep dive into Neil Kinnock after seeing the latter half of his 1985 conference speech and it really is quite interesting to see how his genuine impassioned pleas for the next generation to receive the benefits and chances Labour gave his youth became adopted by New Labour

The Left bloc in the Assemblée Nationale bent over backwards to present a PM candidate that Macron could pinch his nose to and appoint, but he refused! This was last year though, so not really a fresh idea

I think the real problem with French politics is that the Centre thinks that they have no need or no want to compromise or work with the Left to keep the far Right at bay.

Instead the Left is expected to do all the compromising, and smugly chastised when they ask for the Centre to do the same.

Yes they were previously very supportive of Israel irrespective of ground conditions but I think seeing more people enter the tent and keeping them there is more important now than asking why they weren't in the tent before now

Big tell when you (the Right) say Gavin Newsom is inciting violence against Stephen Miller for calling him a fascist. If only I knew someone (Stephen Miller) who called people fascist regularly.
