彼岸花はもう終わの時期。先週まで僅かに残っていた蝉の声もすっかり聞こえなくなりました。

ヒオウギの種、ぬばたま。「ぬばたまの黒髪」のぬばたま。
The black seeds of the Leopard flower (Iris domestica) are called "nubatama", a poetic Japanese term long used to evoke the color black. The phrase “nubatama-black hair” suggests lustrous black locks—like the glossy surface of these seeds.

エナガの眉に野球選手が目の下につけている黒いやつみたいな防眩効果があるとしたら、シマエナガは自分の顔の白さゆえに常に余計に眩しいのでいつもあの目になってるのかも。
なおエナガと北海道の眉ありシマエナガ（エニエナガ）、後ろから見た図を比べたらこちらはほぼ同じでした😀

色々写真見比べてたんですが、シマエナガの方が目細めがちなのが多いですね。シマエナガは冬のなので季節の違いかもしれないですが！

基本的には同じ鳥なのにアイメイク次第でこうも印象が変わるんですね！

こうして改めて本州のエナガを見てみると、北海道で見た眉ありエナガの眉の色は若干薄めに見えるな。
Now that I’ve taken another look at the Long-tailed Tits in Honshu, the eyebrow markings on the eyebrowed individuals I saw in Hokkaido appear slightly paler.🥸

そういえばセグロセキレイって久しぶりに見た気が！そっちでは白と黄ばかりで黒ってあんまり見なかったような・・

セグロセキレイのツートンカラーは地上ではよく目立つけれど、彼らが主な採餌場としている浅瀬の上では保護色として機能しているのかもしれない。
The Japanese wagtail’s two-tone plumage stands out on land, but it may serve as camouflage over the shallow waters where they mainly forage.🧐🐧
