It has been 6 days since I have cried over Sorin Markov

I know I’ve posted about it before, but imagine being a cathar who survived the wedding, only to be taken to receive medical treatment from this guy in his massive, magically blown up, ancient vampire manor.

Left unspoken is that Sorin didn't make the journey with them. He said there were things to which he still needed to attend. Cryptic, as always. She suspected that it wasn't just brooding obfuscation on his part this time. He stayed behind to help them attend to the fallen, to the injured. Anyone who needed long-term support was moving into Markov Manor for a few months. He insisted it was only because he had access to medical texts the others could only dream of.
And maybe it was.
Or maybe it was something else, and he just didn't want to admit it.
Thus—"| have other matters to attend to."
Thinking of it does bring a smile to her face. She knew there was a heart in there somewhere.

My opinions on his actions tend to be a bit more gray than the average person’s, but I will say when he is wrong and call him out on his behavior.

I raised the bomb diffuser and taught her almost everything she knows, so when she asked me to help her diffuse the bomb she let me keep in her house and I refused, she was hurt. Then when she pressed me on why, I told her that she should be grateful I took care of her and to pester someone else-

It’s more “I promised to help disarm a nuclear bomb, then couldn’t follow through on my promise, and instead of letting the other bomb diffuser know why I didn’t explain myself, put her in a place where she couldn’t diffuse a bomb, and only when to diffuse it seconds before it was going to go off.”

in the khans timeline, Sorin’s decision to seal Nahiri in the Helvault created/expedited the problem of the Eldrazi getting released, and since Ugin was dead the problem might’ve never gotten solved.

you can love a character and still admit when they're wrong I love olivia voldaren but I acknowledge her flaws (none she is perfect) and can hold her accountable for her wrongdoings (she never did anything wrong in her life) and call her out on her actions (which are always right)
