there’s a cry of his name from his left—or was it his right? he doesn’t listen to it. nothing’s going to bring him back from this, and he doesn’t want it to. simon’s been waiting for this day from the second johnny took his last breath. it’s his time, he thinks.

gunfire spreads above him, and empty bullet casings tumble next to his weakening body. the rain pours down onto him, and simon can’t help but hope it’ll wash off a bit of the grime so he doesn’t look as disgusting when he sees johnny again. he hopes he sees johnny again. he’s desperate to.

maybe that’s pathetic, but he’s always been a weak man. his father was right about that, simon thinks. johnny never considered him weak, though; always told simon he was the strongest man he ever knew. but johnny’s gone, and again, simon will be, too.

probably not, but he can’t help but hope. he wants to be with johnny in any shape or form. simon would take a lifetime of the worst forms of torture just to have even a minute with his johnny. he would relive roba over and over again if it meant another breath with johnny.

simon wishes johnny was here right now. he hates that he wishes for such a thing, because he knows what it’s like to witness the death of someone you love most, but simon doesn’t want to be alone. he wants to be with johnny. simon is dying alone like he always believed he would.

it was only a matter of time before death came for him, too. ghost hasn’t been all that careful, either. life hasn’t felt real since johnny left; since ghost couldn’t save him. ghost hasn’t been *living* since johnny stopped breathing. he’s been on autopilot.
