update: using this work around works, just change your state initials after you paste in the relevant commands. WV does not have any av laws afaik, and I already had adult content enabled. I was looking at @faineg.bsky.social profile and their pinned post was hidden.

Almost everyone has their repositories on github. if trump locks that down HUGE chunks of WORLD infra would be affected. don't cheer on "digital sovereignty". all that means is fragmentation

I was thinking that too lol I HATE that github is practically a requirement to do any software stuff now. Even worse idea for the whole world to use it. I worry this "digital sovereignty" stuff is gonna make international collaboration needlessly hard, and this shit isn't helping.

I keep telling people once this bubble bursts, only freaks are gonna run local models or try and put slop videos up. Unless your average asshole can just type in stuff and have it approximate what they want, it's not gonna work, and it's not gonna make money. it'll fade away like nft's.

Ok. Look at it economically. There is no way this is economically sustainable for anyone. We're 1 ultra cheap open source model away from knocking it all over. One cheap asic. One gov away investigating the actors for the obvious fraud. Its all very precarious and it will not take much to pop it.

Itll be like asbestos or lead. Existing in sketchy servers only true believers use. Itll leave scars for sure, but I think it'll survive. The only stuff on the net that survives is what people deliberately put effort into keeping around. And that stuff will not be sora videos or gpt summaries.

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

there's been so many rounds of this, but yes, pretty much ANY website that lets you upload stuff has used "ai" to auto mod content for like a decade. Especially the big ones. Is it bad that the one this site is using probably trains gen ai? prob, and it'd prob be a good idea for the devs to know too
