I'm not sure I'll successfully clear the backlog of issues to deal before releasing an updated demo, but I managed to finisha tileset within two days. I feel happy.

One of the changes I'm testing is on the outline.

So far it's been contextua to enviroment, but it was *too* contextual, so I'm capping it to always be active.

I'm going through the list of tasks that are pending, and I'm arranging them in five groups.

[Design] Tasks pendign design evaluation
[Graphics] Related to new visual assets or edits
[Code] Related to modifying code and behavior.
[Sound] Music and SFX stuff
[Hell Mode] A lil of everything.

Instead of a regular update for #dreamenkoure this month, there will be an update whenever the next build is ready. This build will address the feedback graciously recieved during #Sage2025 and goes from minor changes to changes to music.

I want to keep the possibility in mind because, having speedrun games myself, Im aware speedrunning inherently makes a game easier.

"Damage boosting" is the prime example. Health is a grace mechanic, but eating damage from an electric fence and jump might be fastee [and easier] than going aroynd.

The opposite which is having the player perform a billion hoops to barely do any progress means I need to revise the entire layout.

I have two things thing in mind - speedrunning and casual playthrough. I want "fastest clear time" to be difficult, while "casually playing" might take longer but not as hard.

Casually clearing a chunk faster than "speedrunning" without player input(say, walking vs parkour) is going too far.

(2/2)One playtest in Sage2025 , a player (shoutout @sorashimmy.bsky.social ) found a skip by buttonmashing (faster than I could during production lol). The end result doesn't breach the highest or the lowest expectation, so I left it.

It opens the debate if one ought let a player hurt their wrist.

(1/2)The way I'm trying to design level balance is through a sense of scope and not a sense of match.

What I mean by scope, is that I set an absolute of what I want and want not to happen. If these absolutes arent breached, its fair game.

Sage2025 is being a journey of emotions on its own. I've gone from thinking about dropping the project, to thinking its fine, to think it only needs some elbow grease, to think I legitimately need to start the project from 0 for reasons none of my own fault. It's kinda surreal.

Do you fear hurting yourself with the scales' edge? One ought not to carelessly brandish 'Justice', for the scales ebb and flow for those that would abuse it. #pixelart
