I'm drawing 2 women fighting and maybe kissing.
A poster of a yuri comic Leftovers. In the middle is the 2 main characters. One is a tiny femme woman and the other is a tall delinquent looking butch girl. The background is screenshots from the comic. Mommy femme x tsundere butch drawing of the 2 characters as little chibis. The butch has a little blush.

my consistent takeaway from debanking-via-erotica advice via these comments (and from what I've heard second-hand) is to lie, bluntly. don't use CW's/keywords likely to flag your work.

firmly believe my own doujin would still be online had I been vague. learn from my mistake!

Unless you can prove to me the making of the fiction harmed a real human, I don't care.

Which, for the record, that normally happens with things like crunch, fiscal abuse, work place bigotry, and professional exploitation.

It doesn't happen because pixels on a screen made you uncomfy

"But it's fetishized and romanticized and it grooms--"

Fuck you. Genuinely.

If you care more regarding someone getting off to some incest loli waifu 18+ game or rape gore porn on AO3 than you have about gun regulation or police brutality, fuck you.

You don't have to like it. You don't have to accept it. You can criticize it to hell for all I care. And you should. Art existing doesn't mean it's free from scrutiny but art is how culture moves and art is how people learn what exists in the world without having to live it.

But even all that aside, the main reason I believe fiction shouldn't be censored is because EVIL SHIT HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE and fiction has every right to reflect, inspect, magnetize, and interact with REAL LIFE. stories are experiences that are TOLD and HEARD. Conversations shouldn't be taboo.

the thing about moral panics is they aren't about moral panics. it's about community control and rampant bigotry. censorship is a tool of fascists, those who purity police are fascists, and if your disgust agrees with their mission more than the right for fiction to gross you out, you are a fascist

I remember Riot games dropped K/DA to distract from a class action lawsuit and it fucking worked

I see the folks who want to enjoy Harry Potter even though JKR is is funding a Trans genocide

I see gamers who shrug their shoulders at crunch headlines because man did you know how good that game was

I seriously want to underline this because the real obscenity to me is when people are more invested in destroying artists for making lines and colors on a canvas then they do systematic abuse of the people those artists work for. If it's shiny, pretty, and feels good to you, the outrage isn't there

I feel when freedom of expression/art is argued for, many people knee-jerk hear they have to like/accept art they hate or disgusted by

you are allowed to hate and block art you don't like or even find morally reprehensible. you're just not allowed to negatively impact an artist's freedom to make it

There's a UK adult games creator on reddit who's been rejected from 36(!) and counting UK banks and unable to process the earned £90,000. Debanking for adult creators continues to be a real threat.

for anyone unfamiliar with 'flow state' -- research kickstarted because of observation of artists, ironically, despite it being more associated now with athletes, gamers, dancing, etc

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(p...
wikipedia screencap of "Flow (psychology)", text quoted:

History

Mihaly Csikszentmihályi and others began researching flow after Csikszentmihályi became fascinated by artists who would essentially get lost in their work. Artists, especially painters, got so immersed in their work that they would disregard their need for food, water and even sleep. The theory of flow came about when Csikszentmihályi tried to understand the phenomenon experienced by these artists. Flow research became prevalent in the 1980s and 1990s, with Csikszentmihályi and his colleagues in Italy still at the forefront. Researchers grew interested in optimal experiences and emphasizing positive experiences, especially in places such as schools and the business world. They also began studying the theory of flow at this time.

The cognitive science of flow has been studied under the rubric of effortless attention.

for me personally: art is the reason I find a point to being alive. and that sounds intense and dramatic but I really can't emphasize enough it's not an exaggeration. the despair and nihilism and pain the world offers all vanishes when I draw. nothing compares. absolutely nothing.

I've always been annoyed at the performative self-hatred a lot of artists/writers do of their own work. if you've followed me for a while, you've seen me counter-argue against it often. but I think now I want to impress it's praxis to talk about why creativity feels GOOD to do. because it does.

if you hear artists/writers talk, it's so negative. I mean, I know I'm the exception, I can't shut up about how great it feels to do art and how much I love my work, but I'm one voice in a sea of "ugh I want to die" and "I hate myself" and "nothing I make has value" -- how do normies know otherwise?

to most people, creativity in of itself has no reward. it's all grind, and usually capped off by burn out, what's the point. capitalism validates that belief. so why not just outsource the process and just get to the part they need

and that's horrifying, tragic, and deeply angering all at once

and it's true, there's a lot of hard labor and challenges with being studied in creativity. doing art isn't easy. it's infamously hard, even. so hard that the only rewards people can imagine out of creativity is the results -- something to share, something to sell, something to be known for
