One of the great things about Shohei is how aficionados of other sports try to describe his feats in their sport’s terms. One thing in basketball/football, but also soccer, hockey, and cricket! The commonality is that what he did in game 4 can barely be described except with awe.
The disrespect that the Brewers get is maddening. They were the best team in the regular season and did it by great pitching, situational hitting and hustling on the bases. Do not insult them by calling them a minor league team. They unfortunately met a juggernaut that peaked at the right time
Very pleased at some of the turnout for No Kings in areas that are very red.
Amazing shot by Jon Soo Hoo
He is a living cheat code. Or an alien from a planet of master baseball players
Borrowing this graphic and can’t remember from where- but good heavens, talk about absolute dominance from both pitching and hitting.
“Yawn…I am so cool that I don’t even notice a player doing something that has never been done before, and I am such a fan of baseball!!” Haha- so obvi- hate watching the team that kicked his team’s ass and trying to ignore an absolutely unique talent make history…again.
Therein lies the problem with being a superhero on the diamond- there is little tolerance for Clark Kent and monstrous expectations for Superman. This guy, though, understands that and rarely disappoints.
Passan: Ohtani's Game 4 reminds us of the improbability of his greatness
A 469-foot blast and a series-clinching gem on the same night? In NLCS Game 4, we got the full Ohtani October experience.

If it comes down to LAD/TOR for the WS, salute to those guys who suggested Robert Herjavec throw out the first pitch
This comparison is tiresome. There doesn’t always have to be this made up competition on who is better. And honestly, the best defense is actually a pitcher not allowing a hit, so I would say that an excellent pitcher is an excellent defender.
Absolutely. He looks like the ball is an extension of his body that flows towards the batter whereas other guys look like they explode when they pitch.
Winner of 3 straight Sawamura awards , MVP in NPB and people
doubted him. Doubt this man at your peril
Yoshinobu is just so impressive to me. Never loses his cool and makes it look so easy while he throws such sick pitches. So deceptively athletic. Just incredible
Never doubt Emperor Yamamoto or Grand Moff Snell. Next up- General Glasnow.
Sheer terror at having to go to the bullpen is making the Dodger starters pitch like they have never pitched before. They have been brilliant. 🫡
Toronto losing is all Justin Trudeau’s fault for dating that loser Katy Perry. Do the right thing, JT, and save Toronto.
In 2023 when Astros won three in TX, that team had a much better record away from Minute Maid. Plus the Astros have always been a force to reckon with. Blue Jays and Seattle are much better at home, so the latter def have the advantage. It is like that 15 inning win flipped a switch.
Brewers are doing everything in the world to avoid letting Shohei get a hit
You are just poking the bear when you keep walking Sho to get to Mookie
Josh Naylor is a lovely young man. So well-spoken, generous with his praise to teammates and opposing players.
I don’t know why they try to take
On the menswear guy. I think he is 500-0 .
Toronto relief pitchers basically throwing BP right now. Either Yankees were that bad or Seattle is that much better.
He says it is for health reasons. If so, I hope he takes care of himself. But part of me wonders if he was given a choice- retire or be fired. With the talent on the Padres, their past few seasons are disappointing. Also, I get such dick vibes from the guy

Shildt went 183-141 with San Diego and 252-199 since first becoming the Cardinals' manager in 2018.

Quite torn because I love both the Jays and Seattle. Tho maybe I am a big partial to Toronto since they represent Canada, and Canada deserves a win over the orange thing.
