They are jealous of the things creatives can make and rather than make themselves more worthy, they are destroying the concept of talent so they can own just one more thing.
If art is made by a machine they control, and nobody cares about things that take effort and talent to make, they get to own culture.
It’s part of a larger political and economic goal of empowering the wealthy and subjugating everyone else.
With the advent of AI art, the very concept of having any sort of taste or discernment is under attack.

Just as a single data point, I’ve seen numerous ads for Ironheart on meta platforms. The comments are … predictably cursed.
Because my relatives will hear “it was a liberal” on Facebook and never learn another piece of information about it. Propaganda is a full time job for these guys.
Based on occasional discussions with maga voters, I am starting to think that a lot of people believe there is no way to learn objective facts, so they rely on emotional truth.
That post has the energy of a thousand “cinema” pages that FB relentlessly crams into their feed.
Opening a bar devoted to talking politics in 2025 feels like opening a restaurant themed after Schindler’s List.
They’re positively sprinting past every new goalpost. Appeasement only gives them a boost to the next one.

Interesting thread, appreciate it. One area that I am not sure is addressed is that at least in certain parts of America we do have 'black bloc' wannabes that will co-opt these demonstrations with their own extreme goals and methods. Protecting against that takes a lot more than 'social conformity.'

I think the propaganda reason is some imaginary, far-off cultural and economic domination and the actual reason is racial outrage and gleeful cruelty.
The president was black, they weren’t fascists, there was no American gestapo. Reality is so much worse than most satire predicted.
