I think the millions of ideologically diverse people who actually fought and defeated fascism through strength of arms have somewhat more right to the term "anti-fascist" than someone whose main contribution to the such a fight is posting on the 4th most popular text based social media site.

I understand whilst you may wish to avoid this route, but there is almost certainly something on facebook for this niche.

In a neat piece coincidence, the only reason I got this is is that YouTube decided to recommend the skit it to me about three hours ago

Honestly, I do enjoy Watson's constant ejaculating. He even ejaculates out of a window, I recall.

The death of avoiding the word "said" in literature has much to answer for.

Honestly, every country should use different terms for their space wallahs.

Didn't doubt it! More sharing my frustrations at some of my more idiotic compatriots.

O levels/GCSEs and A levels aren't even a UK thing - Scotland has separate qualifications.

I think those who wish, instead of having an anti-fascist coalition, to exclude those who are in fact, anti-fascist but are not otherwise ideologically aligned are not particularly interested in defeating fascism.

Sort of? The battle did not take place in the town of Hastings, but did take place in the Rape.

I don't recall that so much, but I think that is because by the time I was 14 the country was very much in the FHM/Loaded/Nuts era and there were bigger boys who flog you their back issues

(admittedly, this mindset caused everyone to start smoking as soon as they hit 16, so swings and roundabouts)

There is another element, in that what YA books there were would have been read by older children when I was a youngster. Teenagers read pulpy adult books (Fleming, McLean, Cussler, that sort of thing). A 14 year old reading something that was actually aimed at them would have been social death

Having seen people shout at historians for using "Dr" as "they might be confused for medical doctors", can we shout at Dr Alice Roberts for the opposite?

One of most treasured books is a very simple book of photos from WWII - the sort of thing one gets in the IWM gift shop. The reason it is so great is that my grandfather (WWII RAF) got a hold of it and annotated it, added captions, explained who and what everything was - completely elevating it.

I thankfully swore off any WWII history book which uses any term for a practitioner of the arcane in the title after reading "The War Magician".

Obviously the Deltic wins this one, but what an odd matchup. The US did (I say grudgingly) have some quite pretty diesels which could beat a Deltic in a beauty contest- ALCO PAs spring to mind

Oh, gosh. Some high level front runners: Coffee Time, and The Door from Commodore Hustle. Crapshoot wise, The Weapon 4 and Narration. Podcast - all of Qwerpline. However, the one sketch which made me laugh so loudly that it wokeup a neighbour (2am UK time or thereabouts) was this from CFUT:

In both sense of the word.

*the fictional opposing force was called the Circle Triangonists. Circle Triangonism wasn't a real ideology.

I went into a rabbit hole about these chaps a few years ago. They were the Circle Triagonists - pseudo wehrmacht.

I kind of want to re-enact them, not going to lie.

Yeah, I think they are M1s with an Adrian-style ridge stuck on them to make them distinctly not American.

Quite why they decided the French encapsulated the concept of non-Americanness I can only guess.

These images are almost making me nostalgic for my time in LA.

Did you do a BA (Hons) in "Things One Shouldn't Drink"?

it’s crazy to think that TRON is still named after Bruce Boxleitner’s character in the first movie, who has not appeared since, rather than Jeff Bridges’ character, who has been in all three. The franchise ought to be called KEVIN
