Haha! I that slide video was from 2018, which was pre kids and COVID and…lots of life/world stuff. So, many gray hairs and one patchy beard ago!

Haha thanks, Phyllis!! That was a wild one. I did address my excited shove with Mo. here’s what he had to say:

MLB's final four has been set, aka the Henry Blanco gauntlet, named for the only player to play for the Dodgers, Brewers, Blue Jays, and Mariners

They’re a combined 6-36 (.167) and Betts has three of those hits. To be fair, Ohtani’s RBI single in Game 2 proved to be the game-winner.

Phillies’ Big 3 answered the bell in Game 3. Now the heat lamp turns to the Dodgers’ Big 3 offensively, especially Ohtani and Freeman.

That’s exactly it. After the Bottom of the 9th, I used his nickname. “Here comes The Monster of the Reina Era”

the decibel level in the top of the first inning was about 100. That’s higher than the PA system at Dodger Stadium (around 95), for comparison. The Bank in October never disappoints.

Yeah I’ve heard from friends and family, too. The mobile MLB app allows you to pause. So syncing the phone with TV is a lot of technological gymnastics 😂

Thanks, Andrea! And if then , we understand! Boog and Doug are phenomenal at their jobs and as humans ❤️🙏

Pro tip: you can connect your tv provider to MLB.TV and watch on the app using @stephennelson.bsky.social and Mo as your soundtrack instead of the ESPN booth

Thanks, Jay. For sure. Huge believer in giving the stage to the players, crowd and crew (camera ops, director, audio, etc), especially in big moments versus talking over the actual good stuff.

Appreciate the response, Derek. Yes, I’m always Team Less is More. Just wasn’t sure I properly punched those couple seconds after the final strikeout and before the mound visit. Once Freeman came out, it was always gonna be silence.

Thanks, friend 💙 Read your comment to my wife—to whom I’ve been lamenting—and she goes “see! we’re done here. Can’t spell it out more poignantly than that.” 😂

It was intentional at a certain point. I’m talking more the immediate aftermath of the strikeout—between that and the mound moment + ensuing ovation. 100% was going to stay silent once Freddie hit the mound. But thank you, Ryan! I can only hope to stick around that long—as long as they’ll have me!

Not a fishing-for-sympathy post! Just sharing transparent thoughts after a personal whiff vs only sharing calls I was happy with. (And this place is more conducive to such thoughts.)

Been absolutely kicking myself for ~20 hours for how I called Kershaw’s final pitch/out and exit. should’ve given a closing thought or nod to Clayton. Got scared of stepping on the moment w/ Freddie, teammates & the fans. Ugh. I’ll be ready the next time an all-time legend finishes an 18-year run 🙃🤦‍♂️
