That’s so in line with all of the logic I hear from kiddos being ‘almost’ a year older. A ten year old told me he was so close to being eleven that his moms probably just put on the paperwork he was 11. It was February. His birthday was in July.

Takatāpui, a Māori word that refers to an intimate companion of the same sex, was reclaimed as an identity by Māori individuals in the 80s, It is a term similar, but not synonymous, with Queer or LGBT+, & many of the individuals who id as Takatāpui also id as queer. #QHM25 #NZHistory #QueerHistory

Elagabalus was a Roman emperor who ruled while a teen from 218 to 222 CE was an AMAB individual who identified as a woman. She demanded her royal physicians devise gender affirming surgeries for her, as well as referred to herself as a woman and lived as such. #QHM25 #TransSky #QueerHistory

In my current novel wip I have something like that. There’s a sort of ‘starter’ pronoun that everyone has as kids & then they can choose a better fitting one (there are 4 in-universe sets (he & she being 2 of them) as & when it suits them. Some never change. There are cultural ramifications…

The first time I ever properly went trick or treating in town I was 17. I got turned away at least once bc people were ‘saving the candy for younger kids’. Luckily it didn’t really upset me, but still. Let people have fun and participate in a community event!

In 1791, during the French Revolution, homosexuality was decriminalized when the anti-Sodomy laws were removed from the French Penal Code. Homosexuality was not explicitly outlawed, but was still repressed indirectly by other laws, the last of which were repealed in the 1960s. #QHM25 #HistorySky

The Queen James Bible, also called the 'Gay Bible' is a version of the King James Bible that has been rewritten to rework the parts that are often interpreted as homophobic.
