Yesterday we unveiled a giant open letter in Paignton calling on the Health Secretary to visit Torbay Hospital, protect acute services, and release the £350m rebuild funding. Add your name: www.torbaylibdems.org.uk/campaigns/si... #TorbayNHS

Huge win for the Lib Dems in Kenn Valley (Teignbridge), gaining a seat in Mel Stride’s constituency. Second gain in months! Lib Dem: 50.4%, Con: 9.6% (-19). Devon voters clearly aren't buying the supposed Tory conference buzz. #LibDemWin #Teignbridge #KennValley #DevonPolitics

Great to speak at the Devon Chamber of Commerce event at Torquay United Football Club. We had a really productive conversation about apprenticeships, the wide range of businesses in Torbay, and what makes our area such a fantastic place to live and work.

Great to meet staff at Torquay Jobcentre this week, including the District Operations Manager, Work Coach Managers and the Disability Employment Manager. We talked about how they support people into work across Torbay, from parents to prison leavers, and the vital role of community outreach.

The Conservative Party conference has ended — and it’s clear Badenoch’s Conservatives have abandoned the values they once stood for: tearing up rights, trashing climate protections, and chasing Farage’s divisive politics.

I’ve signed a letter opposing the abolition of Healthwatch. Independent patient advocacy is vital for safety, accountability, and trust in the NHS. We must protect the voices that hold our health system to account. #SaveHealthwatch #PatientVoice #NHS

Just took Jennie to the K9 Grooming Parlour this afternoon. She's now looking pawsitively fabulous for her Westminster comeback next week. Fresh trim, shiny coat, and ready to charm the corridors of power 🐾✨

Delighted to attend Imagine This: Powered By Youth at Torre Abbey. Young people led the way, sharing their voices on their terms. A brilliant first step in changing how we listen and act. Huge thanks to all involved! #ImagineThisTorbay #YouthVoice #TorbayEvents

Pleased to add my name to the open letter calling on the Opposition to protect the Climate Change Act and uphold the UK’s net zero commitments.

Our future depends on clean energy, green jobs and a thriving environment. Scrapping climate targets would be a reckless step backwards.

Sad to see the escalators still out of action and lifts closed at Fleet Walk.

We were told by the local Conservative Council this would be fixed by September, but once again they’ve let us down.

I will keep pushing alongside my Liberal Democrat colleagues on Torbay Council to get this sorted.

Great to visit the Alzheimer’s Society stand at the recent Lib Dem Conference.

Social care reform must include dementia care. You can't fix one without the other.

Proud to keep championing this issue. With the Casey Commission now underway, it's vital we build a care system that works for everyone

Hospitality supports 8,000+ jobs in Torbay but faces rising costs and falling confidence. I met with UK Hospitality and local businesses to discuss urgent issues like VAT, NI, and business rates. Grateful for the input—I'll keep pushing for the support our sector needs. #Torbay #Hospitality

On Tuesday, I had the honour of being a baton bearer for the Baton of Hope in Torbay. As the only South West stop on the UK’s largest suicide prevention tour, it brought a powerful message of hope to our community. Huge thanks to all who made it happen. #BatonOfHope #Torbay

Proud to back Lib Dem calls for urgent action to protect hospices like Rowcroft in Torbay. With rising demand and funding gaps, we need fair support now—so no one’s end-of-life care depends on where they live.

Shocked and saddened by the attack outside Heaton Park Synagogue on Yom Kippur. My thoughts are with the victims and the Jewish community at this painful time.

Delighted to visit Dementia UK’s stand at Lib Dem Conference. We discussed improving dementia care, expanding access to Admiral Nurses, and making sure the NHS 10-year plan delivers for families. I’ll keep championing better support for those affected by dementia.

I’ve long campaigned for support for UK zoos and hospitality. I raised Paignton Zoo’s challenges with the PM, called for a national summit, and wrote to ministers demanding action. With the zoo now on the market, urgent government support is needed more than ever.

The Chancellor may finally be waking up to reality: scrapping the unfair two-child benefit cap is the fastest way to tackle child poverty. Now the Government must act, no more delays, no more testing the waters. End the cap at the Autumn Budget.
