Don’t be so sure. Corbyn is as unpopular today as he ever was. Britain doesn’t like socialism. And it’s irrelevant anyway: socialism and capitalism are just economic theories. They’re irrelevant in 2025. Set out policy based on values.

Don’t worry about ‘them’. Just push fairness. People get that.

The issue you will have is that the left is a side. It can be attacked. Britain has always been small ‘c’ conservative. How can you possibly argue against empathy? Against kindness? Against fairness? Etc.

These are values that transcend politics. They are unarguable. It needs zero education. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Sadly, we won’t educate them. It’s beyond our ken. We don’t have the resources. So pick something they understand. That’s what Trump has done. That’s what Reform have done. We have to give us this ideological view. Simple messaging. And often. Emotions win elections.

Politics is a circle.

Got far enough left or far enough right and you arrive at the same place: authoritarianism, totalitarianism and tyranny.

Regardless of economics and the ownership of capital, liberal democracy is the key.

Zack. Don’t fall into their trap. They survive on the oxygen of publicity. As my mum used to say; if you ignore an idiot eventually they go away. If you argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience… just keep talking about fair taxes, decency and empathy.

Let’s call it what it is:

Fairness
Tolerance
Empathy

It’s as simple as that.

Call it that and let’s see who disagrees.

The real issue is a system protecting the super-rich while nurses & carers can’t make ends meet. Tax wealth fairly, fund public services properly. This is how we give Britain hope again.

And it’s wealth inequality.

1600 homeless deaths and a massive spike in billionaires are not independent events.

Quite. Where is the focus on brownfield sites? Why are they so close to the same developers who, as an industry, were responsible for Grenfell? Where is the innovation? Where are the new construction methods? Why are countless empty offices not being converted into new city communities?

I’ve looked long and hard at what Robert Jenrick has said on many subjects from the cladding scandal (caveat emptor) to migration and in fairness it’s impossible to conclude anything other than he is a cunt. Sorry mum.

When you read about women and children in asylum hotels for more than 2 years, this is not British. Because it’s not humane.

A government that complains about productivity and 1 million young people not in work could surely fashion a programme to process claims. And get both groups into work.

We can have cheaper electricity by changing the way prices are calculated and reducing profiteering, we don’t need to burn our planet too.

This is what bad politicians do.

They conflate a problem with a solution that doesn’t fix the problem.

But usually benefits their supporters…

They see a problem and rush out a solution.

Whereas the intelligent approach is:

See a problem

UNDERSTAND the causes

Then, and only then, address the causes which fix the problem.
