A 4.8% ABV Kölsch style blonde and a 4% ABV session pale ale.

I've never seen a pale ale here before, apart from the obvious and increasingly popular IPAs.

At one time, if I heard the term "Labour" (as in the political party), I'd think of positive qualities like equality, justice, empathy, common sense and openness. Sure, the party has never been perfect, but it's usually shown itself to be totally distinct from all its rivals.

Pathetic.

On one hand, the term can be used to show disdain or contempt.

On the other, in its original sense, it's an adjective to describe something "arousing pity, especially through vulnerability or sadness"

Given the widening availability of recording software, I've been seeing more and more classic albums being remastered (and I use that term extremely loosely) by well-meaning amateurs.

Sorry, chaps, but boosting the bass and the treble do not a remaster make.

Both my wife and I both started teacher training in the early 1970s. Sure, we had some Marxist input in philosophy and psychology of education and sociology, but only for balance. Judging from what I now observe in my grandchildren's education, I haven't been aware of anything Marxist being taught.

Afterwards my eye felt a bit "used" and scratchy, but there wasn't any pain - only a bit of discomfort.

I can see so well out of it that I'm not bothering with glasses for my other eye.

It was fine. Good drugs meant I felt nothing and wouldn't have cared if I did. My eye was so paralysed that I couldn't blink with it, which was the natural reaction.

30 minutes for the op (if that) - 30 minutes in the salle de reveille - 45 minutes later my wife came to collect me.

It's strange seeing what you thought was white with your "old" eye, and realising how yellow it was in comparison with what you see when you use your "new"eye.

It's now 24 hours since I had the cataract in my right eye removed and an implant fitted.

I can already see better through it than I could with glasses.

I'm having the left eye done next Wednesday.
