Secondly, I would like to take this quote and make it the background of every official in DESNZ. Trying to be too clever-clever never works. Trying to exclude all edge cases makes bad policy.
Getting the nearby solar online and connection to the substation at the former coal plant easy enough. SMRs well I'll believe it when I see it.
greenhill is 1200ha if that was the criteria. Depends if its whole site or 550 actual PV.

Its a pet irritation but its remarkable how often press inc the BBC don't name projects in their articles. Vague illusions to a village or sometime a road which is no use to man nor beast
Using up all those freed coal connections...
That would be true of CCGTs in any case. They will act as a ceiling on the BESS
Thats largely a fixing itself issue. I'm not in the US but in my market I could just hand the control of charging BESS and EV to my supplier. Smart HPs will fill a similar role.
I know there's only so much bandwidth but still could have moved quicker to define an X% bigger WTs criteria where eg no EIA and fast track planning. As you say small individually but not collectively. Higher value being Eng & lower pushback being established

* I think I may have had a pint there
Gov have really failed to do enough on the planning side of repowering. And given the window needed there is probably a loss of capacity even if they do bring something forward.
The CE is the owner, its entitled to ask whatever fees it likes. They will mostly end up with the treasury in any case.
Relatively unusual but as it happens later in the week Celtic (even channel so Rampion 2, Channel Islands and any French WFs in the future)/Ork and baltic all have wind. [W coast of Ire also depending on future Flow.]

GB is a relative calm.

Gas/Storage certainly.
The mix at least looks awful all week so prices should be high.

Neblige stille is not the common use but kinda cool.
Being generous a test case of the throw stuff at a wall and see whats sticks; being unkind more money than good analysis - gravity batteries ftlog 🤦
We still build a traffic bottleneck on the 'A303' for the added experience and discuss a tunnel for the next 100yrs
Need a DRS appeal on the TG - its usually Ed M's to blame
Wd make a nice change to have a winter when N didn't go awol with 40-60% offline for various reasons at some point.
At least in the case of the first two I'm sure they know they need(ed) to set it but lobbying/donations/union pressure effective in stopping them

Long term stable policy/finance is important but without a statutory end date too many sources of delay will persist.
A lot of the kit is stuff it can't brick or is low impact. The core network and sensitive sites req is however essential.

I have my doubts that C wd brick in any event. Destroys their own trade. Espionage on the other hand...
Given neither the last Gov, the present Gov or if polling is correct the future one will even set a fossil boiler end date any strategy is fatally hobbled
Its not Britain's job to prop up European manufacturers who haven't innovated fast enough and can't control their costs.
If GB wants cheaper generation path its few options but China. Western makers seem unable to get out of a rising path - certainly within the CP30 timeframe
