This is how AI companies and places like ValNet thrive. If you need a paycheck so bad you can't afford to care where you get it, you don't have the option of refusing to participate in a predatory capitalistic system. Same thing with DevilCorp offices. And then you get shit as much as anyone.

The fact of the matter is, no matter how much someone talks about "the real enemy," if they're in a position where they're visible to that "real enemy," they are used as a pawn against those who are more invisible. Your philosophies and ideas are twisted and used against those less fortunate.

More to the point, a lot of people when you're struggling will complain that you don't have the right job or that you should just get a better job or pursue a better option and meanwhile you're out here going "I am, but this is what I got and if I tell you that, it's an 'excuse'."

This is the problem with all predatory capitalism, everyone can talk a huge game about how awful the situation is, but coming from someone with a 9-5 or steady work who doesn't have to worry about where the money's coming from, it reads as chin-stroking blue-sky thinking, because you still need jobs

The problem is, to deal with things like AI, you have to be fully aware that those in charge will pit the comfortable against the desperate, and that the desperate need to survive more than the comfortable can help them.

Or someone getting supremely pissed because I treat life total as a resource instead of a high score, let them waste all their removal and refuse to block incoming damage, destroy the one card that held their combo together, and refuse to resign.

That seems like a massive oversight and a sign that the game's ruined by capitalism, that I have to watch some idiot destroy me but he has to calculate his position every turn while I'm like "YOU HAVE EIGHT UNHINDERED DAMAGE COMING THROUGH AND I'M TAPPED OUT LET'S GO KILL ME ALREADY"

So one thing I've noticed is that I'm a better card player than most of these dopes on Arena, but I don't play optimal decks, so I still get my ass kicked because their cards outrun my win conditions, but when they *don't*, I usually mulch these dumbasses

I'm trying not to blame anyone in particular, but it really does seem like people would rather protect their brand over actually engaging in an honest exchange of ideas, especially on the right.
