Thanks brain, but I just can't resist 🥲
More of Gary's whimsical pieces can be found both in-store or online here:
Gary Walton
Gary Walton is a British artist known for his distinctive, whimsical landscapes that blend fantasy with architectural precision. His surreal coastal scenes-populated by charming lighthouses, quirky cottages, narrow harbours, and tall sailing ships-are rendered in soft, muted tones that evoke a dreamlike, almost nostalgic quality. Walton's imaginative style draws viewers into tranquil, otherworldly environments that feel at once fantastical and strangely familiar, each piece offering a quiet narrative of its own. Born in 1962 in Worcester, England, Walton originally trained and worked as a graphic designer. This background in design continues to inform his fine art practice, particularly in the way he constructs scenes with visual balance, layered textures, and attention to line and form. Although entirely self-taught as a painter, his design training gave him the tools to explore composition and detail with precision. He began painting seriously in the early 2000s, eventually leaving his design career behind to focus on his art full-time. His artistic breakthrough came in 2004 when he was recognised as a finalist in the De Montfort New Artist competition. This early success led to a publishing contract and marked the beginning of a professional fine art career. Since then, Walton's work has gained international attention, with exhibitions across the UK as well as in New York, Hong Kong, and other global art hubs. His original paintings, alongside limited edition prints, are held in private and commercial collections worldwide. Walton's style is unmistakable. His muted, chalky palette combined with highly structured yet whimsical forms creates an atmosphere that is both soothing and surreal. Seascapes dominate his compositions, despite the fact that he now lives inland in Staffordshire. The sea-often imagined-represents both a physical and emotional landscape for the artist. His inspiration often comes from dreams, memories of childhood, and coastal walks, which he translates into gentle, surreal vignettes. Each work typically begins with a simple pencil sketch, where he develops the layout and architecture of the imagined scene. He then builds the painting using layers of acrylics, carefully balancing colour, line, and texture to bring each setting to life. Many of his pieces feature recurring elements-tall, narrow lighthouses, boats adrift on calm waters, or clusters of houses clinging to rocky islands-all crafted with playful precision and a quiet narrative charm. Walton's work appeals to a wide range of collectors, from seasoned art enthusiasts to families seeking a touch of magic and escapism in their homes. His ability to combine technical structure with unbounded creativity allows each piece to stand as a small storybook moment-introspective, curious, and deeply imaginative. Now based in Staffordshire, Gary Walton works from his home studio, where he continues to create new collections and explore evolving themes. Despite his inland setting, the sea remains a central motif in his work, symbolic of both escape and exploration. Through his paintings, Walton invites viewers into serene, whimsical worlds where architecture, imagination, and storytelling converge. His continued success is a testament to the enduring power of creativity that speaks gently, but universally.

Peter Davidson
Peter Davidson, known professionally as Deetz, is a self-taught mixed-media artist born in Ashington, Northumberland, in 1979. Growing up in the nearby village of Ellington, he spent his formative years exploring the streets and alleys of his community, experiences that would profoundly shape his artistic vision. From a young age, Davidson was drawn to drawing and illustration, often capturing scenes of local life, footballers, pop stars, and album covers. While he initially pursued a career in heavy industry, a period of redundancy prompted him to embrace his lifelong passion for art, allowing him to channel his personal experiences and memories into his work. Davidson’s art is deeply rooted in nostalgia, reflecting the everyday life of working-class communities in the North East during the 1970s and 1980s. His paintings often depict children playing in streets, families gathering, and the lively atmosphere of local pubs, shops, and community events. Through these scenes, Davidson evokes a sense of warmth, joy, and camaraderie, portraying the spirit and resilience of the people who shaped his upbringing. His distinctive style combines realism with subtle touches of whimsy, capturing both the physical details of his subjects and the emotional resonance of memory. As a mixed-media artist, Davidson integrates a range of techniques in his work, often layering paint and texture to create depth and vitality in his compositions. He is known for his ability to balance detailed observation with an expressive, storytelling quality, ensuring that each piece not only represents a scene but also conveys a lived experience. Nostalgia, community, and childhood memories are central themes across his body of work, reflecting his dedication to preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of the North East. Now based on the outskirts of Newcastle, Davidson continues to draw inspiration from his childhood surroundings and the stories of the people he grew up around. His work resonates with a broad audience, particularly those who appreciate authentic portrayals of working-class life and the everyday joys of a bygone era. Over the years, he has developed a significant following, with collectors and enthusiasts drawn to the emotional depth and narrative richness of his paintings. Through his art, Peter Davidson offers a window into a world shaped by community, memory, and resilience, capturing the small yet meaningful moments of daily life with charm and honesty. His work not only celebrates the past but also ensures that these cultural and social memories remain vivid for future generations, establishing him as a prominent and distinctive voice in contemporary British art.

Philip Gray
Philip Gray is a renowned Irish contemporary artist celebrated for his dramatic seascapes, atmospheric landscapes, and adventurous spirit that brings a rare sense of immediacy and emotion to his work. Working primarily in oils, Gray's distinctive painting style combines realism with expressive brushwork and a mastery of light, resulting in powerful and evocative images that reflect his deep connection to nature and the elements. Whether capturing the raw energy of a crashing wave or the quiet majesty of a mountain range, Gray's work is rooted in firsthand experience, often painted in extreme locations around the world. Born in Cork, Ireland in 1959, Philip Gray's early life was closely tied to the ocean. He joined the Irish Navy at a young age and served for over 17 years, an experience that would profoundly shape both his worldview and artistic vision. The discipline and focus developed through his military background combined with his exposure to the changing moods of the sea and sky became central influences in his later creative life. During his service, Gray began to explore art more seriously, initially as a personal outlet before committing to it professionally. After leaving the Navy, Gray studied at the Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork, developing his technical skills and refining his artistic identity. While classically trained, his style evolved into a more expressive and immersive approach, emphasizing atmosphere, movement, and a sense of place. Early in his career, Gray gained recognition for his seascapes, often painted en plein air in challenging coastal environments, including cliff edges and aboard moving boats. A defining characteristic of Philip Gray's work is his commitment to adventure and exploration. He is known as an
