I think my favourite view is from #CityThameslink station across to #TowerBridge and both sides of the #Thames and the water gently rippling to the dark sand and shingle of both banks. I'd love to time travel and experience the view through the centuries and try mud #larking #daydreams
Loved #Amsterdam. Visited for the first time. Particularly impressed by safe, separate lanes in the city for cyclists. Not so impressed by airport taxis, which seriously overcharge. The cafe coffee culture, and souvenir shops were a source of amusement. 🙈🙊😆
Was great to speak at @europeanrespsoc.bsky.social #ERS2025 #CRCIMPORTANCE as a #patientrepresentative on #respiratorydisease in Amsterdam on 29 September. Was given a warm welcome and well cared for. Inspirational project and team.
Epstein's scandal has similarities to the John Vassall scandal of the 1960s by the looks of it. Very murky it seems.... Not a good look for the already badly tanking Government reputation.
Interesting how a certain UK club with the name of an aquatic animal is never mentioned anywhere anymore 🙈🙉🙊Mostly as the time period was long ago and MPs implicated are deceased EEK
I think often Select Committees are #tokenistic and also test the #temperature of social situations. What is actually done in response and what the agendas really are may be based on political strategy and #marketforces imho. Democracy is not necessarily truly democratic unfortunately I think
New work pic for my @localtrust.org.uk #bio: Local Trust, which supports the Big Local programme, is closing as 150 areas across England finish NLCF grant funding after 15 years. Looking for #newjob #research #communites #socialchange #housing #displacement #regeneration #vsInequality #Empowerment

🚨Today's blog post is on the new exhibition 'Building "Homes for Tomorrow": Lambeth’s Council Housing of 1965 to 1980' at @lambetharchives.bsky.social. The images below (a nursery school and a housing scheme for elderly people) capture the era's ideals.

"Berkeley Homes are threatening to destroy the heart of Peckham and its community by demolishing the Aylesham Centre and turning it into luxury flats with just 50 social homes out of 867 new properties." And, as usual, those 50 social homes are likely to disappear.
The biggest planning/housing battle in London now is against the Aylesham scheme of Berkeley Homes in Peckham. Support their crowdfunding if you can and re-post this www.crowdjustice.com/case/acapeck...

Responding to the flurry of media coverage of crap housebuilding, why not give communities the chance to be partners in placemaking and stewardship? The tools exist. They just need policymakers and practitioners to adopt them at scale.

Ever wondered why historic places matter to you?

Watch @imadgination03.bsky.social give a preview of her new book on emotion and place.

Glad you socked it to Google. Damn lies and more lies, drumming up stigma and hatred via AI is sure to be the darker side of AI and then some...
Apalling and #shockingfigures are #evidenced in this research. Chronic #poverty in housing also seems to be getting worse too. I've seen people looking through neighbourhood refuse bins and pulling out items left behind to use. Seen begging for staple #food items, #children picking out of #bins.

More than 13,000 people were seen sleeping rough on the streets of London in 2024/25 - the highest on record.

This is almost 4x higher than 15 years ago, in 2008/2009, and a 10% increase in just 12 months.

These figures ones again underline the scale of London's housing crisis - a city where 1 in 50 residents are living in temporary accommodation, and more than 300,000 households are on social housing waiting lists.

In last week's Basic Income Show we discussed a new study that showed how blood plasma income (about $400/mo) reduces crime by 12%.

People shouldn't have to sell their blood for survival income, and we should acknowledge how much crime is survival crime.

Yes, certainly. Some people won't like it but it is a pro-active step to gain those with talent and skill sets plus gaining from the rich perspectives and #uniqueinsights into society that those from #lowerincomebackgrounds have. Adds possible policy #solutions along with other #team contributions
