The wolves are circling... Keep going Carole.

He stood up in the European Parliament and blamed the EU for Russia invading Ukraine (in effect) just as Gill did. He championed Brexit which was a big win for Moscow. Somewhere, somehow he's taking Putin's shilling. Somehow, someday, someone will figure out how.

What if... Fridge's French girlfriend did by the Clacton house with 'her own money'... What if the cash came from his friends in Moscow and she is a really nice person who does his laundry?

We were in Manchester yesterday evening. The streets were buzzing with life. In a queue for a gig, bald, tattooed men in black Slipknot t-shirts. Students laughing in groups on a night out. Sharp dressed folk entering a smart bar. All ages and hues. And I thought about Portland and Chicago..

How do you know when your slow-cooked, carefully stirred, reddening membrillo is ready? When it does this...

Quince jelly turned out all right. Membrillo tomorrow.

Quince jelly and membrillo on the go...
A bowl of large yellow quince Chopped up quince in a pan of water Mashed quince piled into a muslin in a colander over a saucepan Muslin tied up and hanging clear of the pan so the juice can drip through.

I don't really have a big problem with gas as last resort for some years. We'll use very little of the stuff overall (lots on cloudy, still, cold days) but it will serve to underpin security of supply and keep markets calm.

Yes, I fly a microlight. The maintenance regime is very rigorous, insurance is invalidated if not kept up. Our plane is only 14 years old and we don't take paying passengers.

Yes, battery storage should be considered to be critical national infrastructure.
suebeesley.bsky.social
By then will we have decoupled gas from renewable pricing in the UK too?
suebeesley.bsky.social
Correct. I thought you were referring to existing panels...
suebeesley.bsky.social
The panels on my house are now 14 years old. Still producing at 90% of their original output. Long since paid for themselves.

My solar panels have been on the house since 2011. I have washed them once, otherwise they have required no maintenance at all. They are still producing 90% of their original output. They paid for themselves 4 years ago (they were much more expensive in 2011 than today), so it's all free now.

Looks like Eastbourne. Or Pevensey Bay
suebeesley.bsky.social
Well yes, because people don't read newspapers, but they do look at running costs when buying a car.

I buy my electricity from @octopus.energy . The solar/ batter system I've got was installed in three stages and the heat pump went in afterwards so there's been a long slow learning curve. We manage it completely ourselves now. Easy and seamless once you understand it.

The right wing press will only report on the payments to renewable generators not to supply. They won't mention how insanely cheap it is now, or the reasons the oversupply can't all be used/stored.
suebeesley.bsky.social
You'll use daytime electricity during winter, but there are tariffs with an off-peak, daytime top up. I might stick with Octopus Go anyway, but I'll have a look at other options.

And it puts Israel under the spotlight re its next move which in turn potentially weakens Trump's support for Netanyahu, if Trump thinks he's preventing him getting his mitts on the big prize. An big bait that I didn't think Hamas, would take, tbh.
