i’m glad i changed my mind about nicrow because it makes what i had planned so much better— everything ties in together better and the conflict affects more than just two characters

i just hope everyone realizes now why i said that nicrow won’t happen until AFTER the story ends

it was only going to be between crow and kiddo at first (and something that would drastically affect their character growth) but with nic in the mix it makes it more interesting

he has to experience what he did with javi and roxanne AGAIN

they were always meant to be doomed, it’s a failship, this was planned from the start

making nicrow a thing just throws nic into the blender with crow and kiddo

the foundation for crow and kiddo’s relationship is so messy— crow, desperate for some kind of love, agrees to a relationship that he’s not okay with

kiddo has no choice but to agree because nero will hurt her sister if she doesn’t

so when nero tells her what she has to do AND crow not really giving her a choice in the matter, kiddo’s best option is to make their relationship casual at best

that way, when everything does fall apart, it won’t be that bad (is what she thinks)

kiddo likes crow, but in that superficial way too (he’s cute and funny but she doesn’t really know everything about him)

we still don’t know what kiddo is really like, but i’ll say that she’s very similar to nic, more than we thought

for one, they’re both good at pretending nothing’s wrong and smiling when they really don’t want to

he’s a character who’s motivated by love, everything he does is out of love (he chose a life of crime because it was his only option to provide for star)

he believes love will heal the emptiness he feels

we know that crow was deprived of love as a child, and he thinks having a house and a partner is what makes life normal…

normal = happiness, in his brain

and he wants star to have a sense of normalcy too

readers asked why crow chose kiddo over nic… a few reasons: 1. crow’s too deep in his insecurities about his sexuality, 2. nic (at the time) told him he wasn’t interested in a relationship, 3. crow is starved for some kind of affection, so much so that he’s blind to red flags

in the beginning it’s implied that crow has a very superficial crush on kiddo and has liked her even before the comic started… they’ve never talked until that one episode

kiddo somewhat reciprocates, but it’s only in a “yeah he’s kinda cute” way
