i was too old for Twitter (from where the first wave trans accounts came together on early Blue Sky), so I don't get trans Twitter culture. wonder if you have to be part of their clique to be allowed to talk to them?

Wanted to write something supportive, but my mind is in circles.

(Everything I write, I start to feel isn't helpful enough and don't post...)

In any community, especially persecuted communities, there's crossfire... being able to break contact with them helps in long run... even if hurts

remember a bit that the local radio guy in Norfolk used to do in the 90s...he'd read the headlines of the front page of the more well known papers, then he'd read the Pilot's headlines which was literally usually something like "Controversy over man with blue hair"

it was rarely more substantive 😅

usually goes fine or is safely ignored. don't think I've gotten a bad reaction.

in other context (not trans) i've had combative misunderstandings of my post. that doesn't sting as much as i kinda presume some %age of cis people comment in bad faith (maybe 20% or so? 80% on other platforms)
