You know, I might be done with it all tbh. The internet hasn't felt like a mentally safe space for a while now, and having to bat off literal AI demons has kind of ruined the experience now. Honestly the internet raised me & I'm grateful.

Until fascism has been curtailed and locked back in the box, hopefully ad infinitum next time, we will have the chance to build infrastructure together in the way the UN was built where their are common global systems and communications networks that don't require exploitative access & data mining.

Tim berners-lee and the solid project go a long way towards this but there are a lot of perverse influences in the world trying to get your entire data store on their servers and keyed to their system for analytics and surveillance. This is a cultural hurdle in the world right now blocking everyone.

Bluesky does get the ethos of individual networked microsites correct, but they should be self hosted and made easy to self host and secure in the same wah a home or other property is. Otherwise we are just replacing the chains of one organisation for the chains of another down the road.

We should all be trying to get as much media as possible for as little money or data extraction as possible and it is right to be combative about it. Every bit of data on someone else's server equates to your money in their pocket.

Migrating tiktok to @skylight.social ATM. Still concerned with the merkle tree data store in the clear on someone else's server but for now its the best worst option. Rednote is too nazi, Instagram is too cringe, unsure if there are any federated tiktok clones otherwise.

A lot of the problems in the world right now are stemming from the fact that the rich have built enclaves for themselves, where they are insulated from the consequences of what they create. We need to bring it to their doorstep and make life uncomfortable for them.

I will say one thing, although I've been pretty unwell the past few days, my heart feels like its on fire finally working g through all this stuff where it used to feel so cold before now. Its like the blood is finally pumping again and I'm not in some kind of metastasis keeping trauma inches away.
